The concept of Canton Express ironically emerged through the marriage and fusion of two classic Chinese restaurants from Columbus, Ohio. Owners Phil & Anna are a husband & wife team who have been in their family’s restaurant business since they were 10 years old. Both of their parents owned successful Chinese restaurants for a bridged duration of 4 decades in Columbus, Ohio starting from the mid 1970’s.

Phil’s family owned the famous Hong Kong Restaurant while Anna’s family owned Fu Gei where the cooking style of their parents restaurant originated from the popular northern regions of the United States such as Chicago, Ohio, New York, New Jersey and Boston

Virtually growing up in the restaurant environment, both Phil & Anna have a combined forty plus years of restaurant experience and through their marriage, have synergized their family’s award winning recipes & success elements under one roof with Canton Express. They have seen and experienced changing trends of Chinese food from old school Chop Suey houses of the early 1970’s, family style restaurants of the 1980's, fast food Chinese food of the 1990's to the buffet style of the 2000's. However, throughout all of the changing trends, fresh & great tasting food and good old fashion warm personal service never went out of style and has always been the key to their success.
